As a stay at home mom of two boys and a girl I wanted to “spruce” up the kids’ plates to add some charm and excitement to our daily meals. The idea was to allure the little ones to be excited about eating; learn to eat balanced meals made of fresh and healthy ingredients and try new foods. Soon it turned into a whole new “art” of kids friendly cooking and arranging. That’s how this magical adventure started. Often times it takes on a parallel educational path, like discovering letters, counting, colors, animals, and shapes, exploring places, weather, cultivating holiday spirit and traditions, and many more. It’s a fun and rewarding journey both for me and the children. The “happy meals” are a big hit with most kids and serve well during play-dates, parties, etc. They also help with those who are picky eaters. The dishes are definite conversation starters, as well as game and play inspirations. They are simple and easy. Kids can have tons of fun making and eating them. Children love to play with their food. And this food is very playful! Most of my creations posted here are a product of my imagination and the kids’ fantasies but some are replications of other people’s wonderful ideas. And I’d like to pass them on as well. Magical plates make food disappear with delight!
